History

TASCO was formed in 1971 to help associations and businesses by
providing an alternative source for publications distribution.
Commencing operations in a 1,500 square
foot facility in Clinton, Maryland, TASCO quickly grew. In the summer of 1974, the operation
relocated to a 30,000 square foot warehouse/office complex in Waldorf, Maryland.
By 1976, TASCO had again outgrown its facility and relocated to a new
43,000 square foot building. In 1978, a duplicate addition was added to the existing
structure, giving TASCO a total of 86,000 square feet of warehouse, office and MIS space.
In 1985, a strategic decision was made to purchase land and construct a
headquarters complex that was configured specifically to the needs of our clients. Private
ownership of the building was important to us because it would permit TASCO's storage
rates to be unaffected by lease rates and, additionally, provide a level of comfort to our
clients that could only be achieved through building ownership. After four further
expansions between 1986 and 2000, TASCO presently utilizes 192,000 square feet of occupied
space. Construction of another 58,000 square foot facility has just been completed, with
pre-planned expansion capabilities of an additional 116,000 square feet.
